You do not need to walk alone. Walk with Me is designed to have people to walk with. It is a great way to get out and meet new people while improving your health. Did you know that walking has the lowest dropout rate of all fitness programs? it's the simplest positive change you can make to improve your heart health.

Research has shown that walking at least 30 minutes a day can help you:

  • Improve your blood pressure
  • Maintain your body weight
  • Enhance your mental well-being
  • Reduce your your risk of osteoporosis
  • Reduce your risk of breast and colon cancer
  • Reduce your risk of non-insulin dependent (type 2)diabetes

There really are so many benefits for such a simple activity. Walkers of all ages and levels are welcome. Just show up with comfortable shoes and clothing. For more information, please contact Meg McAlpine, Family Consumer Sciences Agent, University of Florida, at 904-548-1116.
