Tony and Barbara Lopez have been living in Fernandina Beach since 1978. On their property is the biggest loblolly pine recorded in Florida. In 2006 the circumference was 172.8 inches and the height was 102 officially. The average crown spread was 78 feet. The age is 250 – 300 years old It is still growing and they appreciate being its protector. Other trees on their property are hickory, oak and magnolia. Many birds such as doves and cardinals come to the bird feeders and they often see owls and hawks. Not long ago a bobcat was prowling around their lovely natural habitat.
