Question: Where can you find a recipe, get the latest temperatures for our area, learn how to protect plants from chilly temperatures and get 66 ways to save money, all on one website?
Answer: the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences/Nassau County Extension Office website at Nassau.ifas.ufl.edu.
"Kathy Warner does our website totally," said IFAS Extension Agent Rebecca Jordi.
"It used to get about 610 hits a year, now it gets over 33,000!" raves Jordi. "(She receives) no pay at all and she has done an incredible job. She started out with about six to eight pages and now has over 300. She has been fabulous."
Warner edits and maintains the Nassau County Extension website, writes the Horticulture News newsletter every other month and volunteers as a Master Gardener.
"I love plants. I love animals. I enjoy nature. I want to make a difference, no matter how small it may be," Warner said when asked why she volunteers.
"The Master Gardener Volunteer program is a great way to make new friends, learn about gardening in Florida and give back to the community while having lots of fun."
Warner also volunteers for the Nassau Humane Society, editing and maintaining its website and performing other tasks.

The Warner household is made lively by beloved pets obtained through various animal rescue organizations, including dogs Zoomer and Zephyr and cats, Big Bad Billy Bob and Bubba. In addition to her four-footed sweethearts, Warner shares her Fernandina Beach home with her husband, Bob.
